Having worked closely with corporate groups for several years we know what it takes to offer a fun and competitive experience at your next function.

With all the options, we can come to you and work at your venue.  We bring everything, wine, glasses, note pads etc... so all you need to do is turn up and have a good time.  Alternatively we can organise a great venue on your behalf.  We can work with local vineyards, restaurants or corporate venues to ensure that your event goes smoothly.

Below are the most popular options, however if you have a creative suggestion and would like us to run it for you, then let us know!

Wine Blending

Take Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec and make your own blend!

Learn about the importance of blending in wine making

Your blend will be tasted, scored and a winner announced!

One of the most important skills for any wine maker to master is the art of blending.  This applies even if the wine is made from a single grape variety, where fruit from different vineyards or from different clones of the same type will need to be blended to create consistency, or to create a particular style.

When it comes to traditional Bordeaux-style red wines, the blending takes on a whole new level of importance.  It is possible to achieve completely different results by using 90% Cabernet Sauvignon or instead using 90% Merlot.

In this fun exercise lasting from 1 1/2 to 2 hours, your blending skills will be put through their paces.  We start with a tasting of each variety, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec and will taste what each has to offer.  In groups we then work together to produce what we consider to be our optimum blend.

At the end of the blending exercise each teams blend is tasted by a Wine Academy expert and is judged according to the WSET standard tasting procedure.  An overall winner is then announced and a prize is awarded.

This is where you can really put your knowledge and your palate to the test!  In teams, or as individuals you will be asked to blind-taste five different wines.  Each wine will be distinctly different but will be characteristic of its region and style.  It is down to you to determine what type of wine you are drinking.

You will be presented with multiple choice questions, asking for Grape Variety, Country, Region, Vintage and/or Producer.  Don't worry if you find this daunting, it is always great fun and we will give you plenty of clues and encouragement as you need it!
